One of the first questions I get asked when someone starts an inter-network marketing business is…“what is the best way to get started prospecting online?”

That’s a great question and my answer is always article marketing.  Do you know what article marketing is?

I call it my own personal sales force who travel and pop up all over the internet promoting my message and looking for targeted prospects.

So how does article marketing work? Well, basically you write 300-400 word articles on any aspect of network marketing and submit them to article directories who publish them on their sites. You include what is known as a resource box with links to your sites and when people click on these links they arrive on your page.

Usually the next question is…”what if I don’t have a website?” My response is normally get one but there are other ways to get around this. As a member of Occupy The City, you get your very own landing page with your own links embedded and you can send people to this page.

Now back to article marketing. Here’s a five step process to get you started:

1. Pick a topic about network marketing and write about it but in a way where you’re giving the reader some valuable tips that they can implement. Make sure you mention your keyword at least three times in the article. If your writing about a “network marketing business” then that is your keyword or keyphrase.

2. Your headline should be compelling and should include your keyword. For example:

“Network Marketing Business - How To Grow An M-L-M Business Quickly”

3. You need to include a resource box. This should not be about your qualifications but more about how you’re going to solve your reader’s problem. It needs to be compelling enough for them to  click on. Include at least two links to your site. One should be   the main keyword and the other your url.

4. Submit your article to the article directories. There are thousands of directories out there but only a handful with the leveraging power you want. You’ll need to create an account at most and you’ll then be taken to the submit page where you fill in your    details and then hit submit. Some articles are published right away while others need to be approved.

This is a powerful strategy for getting free traffic and the more articles you write the better it works. And remember, like network marketing, it’s long term and will continue to work for months, even years down the track.
