Are you on track as an entrepreneur? If you’re network marketing when that means you have some of that entrepreneurial spirit and know the importance of making your own financial luck and not relying on someone else to pay your bills.

But the simple reality is that people with an entrepreneurial spirit are a dime a dozen. Yes, they are everywhere but what separates those who make it from those who don’t is a seven letter word called courage.

I’m not meaning to insult anyone when I say this because the truth is, I was an entrepreneurial coward up until a few short years ago until someone said these words to me…

“You’ll never get past the entrepreneurial breakwaters until you conquer that fear inside you and step outside your comfort zone.”

You see, up until then, I’d tried and failed in several network marketing businesses, one I had established a $900 a week income before self-destructing.

What happened?

I got into uncharted territory that is, I was on track to financial freedom but the strange thing was I was afraid. People wanted more of my time and it made me nervous. I went back into my shell and started passing off stuff I should have been doing to my downline.

Eventually, my lack of effort started to resonate down the line and while I had some dedicated people, when I wasn’t being seen in putting in the effort then they saw this as the green light to do the same.

That $900 a week income soon fell to $800 then $700 then $600 until it almost disappeared. It hurt but still I didn’t do anything about it and was comfortable going back to a job where the income was guaranteed every week and people didn’t demand much of my time.

You may have heard the phrase “your network determines your net-worth.”  There is little else truer than that statement. If you already fully grasp that, then you already make a fantastic income.
If it rings true, but you still have financial goals and a dream yet to satisfy, then read on.

Look at any major corporation. Heck, look at the way a good manager staffs any store, and you will find the best person for each task filling the role they are best suited for.  Makes sense, right?

One of the biggest issues with network marketing is getting targeted prospects. If you’ve been network marketing for long enough then you know this is fact.

This then leads to another problem. Many people try to short cut the process and look for the big red magic button by going out and spending several hundred dollars a month and buying leads.

The result?

Frustration, anxiety and most importantly, a big hole in their pockets. You see, the problem with buying leads is, you have no control on how the leads are sourced and whether they are really
targeted.

Answering ads promising hundreds of leads which could potentially explode your network marketing business overnight is tempting but the truth is, very rarely do these leads deliver on the promises.

The reason is, they more often than not are not fresh - that is, they’ve been around the block and by the time you get them, they may have already been used five or six times!

Here’s the scenario - someone forks out hundreds of dollars and buys a thousand leads. They then start to call these people. They immediately run into problems like:

- there’s no answer

- there is an answer and the voice on the other end of the line yells “I spoke to someone about this last week…get lost!

- or someone completely pleads ignorance and doesn’t remember opting in to receive information about a business opportunity

The fact is, eventually the human spirit can handle only so much rejection and the person decides this is not for them and they quit.

Unless you’re sourcing your own leads in network marketing then you will fight a losing battle. You have control when you attract your own leads and that’s the key.
